Dot net Domains
The .net extension is one of the original seven created back in 1985. It stands for 'network', and was originally intended for networking companies (technology companies and web networks), but it is now used by a wide variety of corporations, companies and organizations. While generally not as desirable as a .com name, the .net extension has been around long enough that it is reputable and trusted, and is a good alternative if the .com name you are looking for is not available. As an added bonus, it usually goes for considerably less than the equivalent .com name.
